Statement of Faith

Article I

The scriptures as appeared in the original manuscripts of the Old and New Testaments being given by divine inspiration, are the words of God, the final and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Article II

God reveals Himself in scripture as the living and true God, Creator of all things. God exists eternally as three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Article III

God made man in His own image and desired to have fellowship with him. Man fell through sin and as a consequence of his sin, lost this relationship with God. This total depravity of man has been transferred to the entire human race with man incapable of a right relationship with God apart from divine grace.

Article IV

The only mediator between God and man is God's eternal Son, Jesus Christ who as a man fully experienced our humanity and yet without sin.

Article V

By His death on the cross, Jesus revealed divine love and mercy, reconciling us to God and removing the guilt, penalty and power of sin. He then was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven and now rules as Lord over all and intercedes for us as our great high priest.

Article VI

The Holy Spirit, through the proclamation of the good news regarding the work of Christ on the cross, renews our heart, persuades us to repent of sin and confess Jesus as Lord. By the same Spirit we are led to trust in divine mercy, whereby our sins are removed, justified by faith in Christ our Savior, adopted into God's family as His children and enabled to live in the world so that man may see our good works and thereby our Father in heaven is glorified.

Article VII

God calls men and women into a fellowship of believers, thereby creating one holy church united in the bonds of love, endowed with the gifts of the Spirit and summoned by Christ to make disciples of all nations, administer the sacraments, relieve human need and suffering.

Article VIII

God's redemptive purpose will be consummated by the return of Christ to raise the dead, judge all men and establish His kingdom. Those who are apart from Christ shall be eternally separated from the presence of God, but the righteous shall live and reign with Him forever.
